Things That Can Wake You Up Better Than Coffee

When you think of ways to wake up, most people seek out the next Starbucks to get a cup of coffee and get the day started. However, there are other things that can wake you up just as well, if not better. Also, some of them are far healthier for you than coffee. In this article, we'll dive into 10 things that can wake you up as effectively as coffee.

1 Apple

The apple offers major benefits to the human body, but fruits in general are big, too. So, why apples you may ask? The benefits of an apple are amazing, since it contains fructose which is a natural sugar that can wake you up naturally and help keep you going. It also moves slowly through the body, reaching areas where you may not wake up immediately, but once an apple in your system it'll wake you up and keep you awake. There's no crash either, which makes the benefits of the apple far outweigh those of coffee. If that wasn't enough, apples contain carbohydrates which the body needs to get moving and stay moving, and apples are also a great source of fiber. Really, why wouldn't you want to eat apples knowing that?

2 Foods

It's actually kind of funny, but you tell me a guy that won't wake up when he smells a good breakfast being made. Women aren't against it either. Food simply has a tremendous wake up power that is completely natural. For me, the smell of blueberry muffins can wake me up from a deep sleep in which I am ruling a Narnia-like kingdom, and then it keeps me up. But the interesting part is that it's not just the smell that will get you, but the food itself. Once you start getting carbohydrates and protein in your system, you can wake up pretty well. Things like eggs have Vitamin B, which you read about earlier in the article. No matter what you eat, as long as it's a healthy or nice breakfast your body will wake itself up and you'll be ready to take on the day almost immediately. No coffee is even needed. One of the best foods to wake you up, and one thing to have in your diet every day, is whole grain foods. It has Iron, B12, Carbs, and much more to keep you going.

3 Light

Seems a bit obvious, I know. But, light has a way of, shall we say, annoying people in the morning. Whether you wake up to the bright sun or the light being cut on in your room, it may be a torturous way to get up, but it's guaranteed to get you up and keep you up.

The World's Largest Crocodile Caught In The Philippines Is Beyond Terrifying

Judging by all of the intense wildlife found on (or near) their islands, the people in the Philippines have it rough. Giant, man-eating sharks aren't the only monsters they have to worry about.
Now, people in the Philippines have to worry about monsters on land, as well. Meet the giant Filipino crocodile. (So much for being safe on land...)

Back in 2011, residents of a small village south of the Philippine capital, Manila, managed to capture the world's largest, living crocodile. The 21-foot, 2,370-pound monster had been terrorizing the area for years. After it was suspected in the killing of a local fisherman, and some farmers' live stock went missing, a team of 100 local men set out to finally catch the beast. After an all day struggle they managed to trap the croc with steal nets, and drag it out of the small creek it was hiding in. The men then bound it up with tough rope and lifted it onto the back of a truck with the help of a crane.

Wow ! This Family Decided To Live With A Lion...And What Happened Is Just Unbelievable !

Living with a lion sounds pretty awesome. I doubt you'd have to worry about break-ins. But I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning up the hairballs!
Following a trip to Africa, actress Tippi Hedren (known for her starring role in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds), her husband Noel Marshall, and her actress daughter Melanie Griffith wanted to make a movie about lions. To make a convincing movie about the majestic creatures, they needed to learn about them. The best way to learn about them, advised animal trainer Ron Oxley, was to "live with them for a while." So they took him at his word.
.You would think that advising people to live with lions might not be such a good idea, but it worked out well for the family. Kind of bizarrely well. The family opened their home to Neil, a male lion who was way bigger than any of his human friends. Actually, he was one of the many "wild" animals who shared the family's California ranch, but he was the cuddliest. Check out these incredible photos of Neil hanging out with his people in the early 1970s. It's pretty amazing to think of this enormous and ferocious animal lounging by a pool. In the photos, Neil seems more like an oversized house cat than the king of the jungle.
The movie the family wanted to make went on to become 1981's Roar. Besides being a commercial failure (it took $17.5 million to make, but grossed only $2 million), it also caused some injuries to the human cast. An estimated 70 people were injured during the making of the film. Griffith required facial stitches after an attack from a lionesses, but the family's love of the big cats did not diminish. After the filming wrapped, Hedren founded the Shambala Preserve, a sanctuary for mistreated or neglected exotic animals. Hedren still lives there to this day in the company of about 70 animals, including the late Michael Jackson's Bengal tiger.

Meet Monty... the Adorable Cat with an Unusual Face !

This is Monty, a three year old kitty cat who was recently adopted from an animal shelter by a loving couple who has loved having the little feline in their life.

Monty was born without a nasal bridge, which is essentially the bone in the nose that supports all that cartilage. It accounts for his unique appearance, but does cause a couple issues.Because of his void where most cats have a bone in their nose, Monty tends to sneeze a little bit more than your average house cat. How cute!

2015 Ford Mustang RTR Revealed—Yes, It Looks Awesome

Pro drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr. is finally ready to drop his racy new Mustang RTR. The car debuts at SEMA and will be available via select Ford dealers, and it looks the business. Frankly, the 2015 Mustang’s biggest issue is that, if anything, it doesn’t look mean enough. Problem solved! The RTR gets new spoilers, splitters, a pretty wicked-looking diffuser, new grilles—with illumination in the upper one, making up for the sadly departed driving lamps—and the best-looking wheels I’ve seen for that car, period.

All the appearance stuff is for the Spec 1 cars, which leave out performance mods. The Spec 2 adds an RTR-specific tune, Magnaflows (again, RTR-specific), a revised suspension, a cold-air kit, and an optional blower. Also making its way to SEMA, but not yet revealed, is an even more extreme RTR Spec 5 concept, which takes the formula even further. Stay tuned.
